Bilbao City Council and HABIC Wood Cluster have developed the first pedestrian fence for city events designed in local wood. This piece of street furniture meets the requirements of aesthetic improvement, with a personality of its own and a sustainable approach. Thus, the project has resulted in the first pedestrian fence with a ‘made in Bilbao’ design, made of wood, with the feature of environmental respect it implies. The fence completion is the work of designer José Luis Revuelta Bilbao, founding partner of Disaro. Read more

It is an international event at the highest level organized annually by the German Marshall Fund of the United States, an entity with which Bilbao has an agreement of collaboration. Read more
Bilbao and Bizkaia are in luck. The city and the province add a new international recognition, which supports their commitment to design as the backbone of urban transformation, with vocation and ability to promote economic and social development. UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, has published today the addition of Bilbao to its Creative Cities Network, in the “Design” area. Read more

Niki de Saint Phalle (1930−2000) is one of the most influential artists of the second half of the 19th century. Her works include numerous public art projects, including the Tarot Garden in Tuscany, and the Stravinsky Fountain in Paris. She also made experimental films and decors and costumes for ballet productions.
