Bilbao City Council and Bizcay Provincial Council have launched “Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission”, a forward-looking strategic plan for attracting and managing film shooting

It is a plan to attract, promote and manage the shooting of audiovisual productions, feature films, animation, shorts, documentaries, series, advertising and reports. Thus, the City the Territory join forces in a shared value-added and forward-looking strategy, which is favoured by a favorable tax policy for investment, a complete map of locations and a comprehensive range of technical resources and cutting-edge teams, backed for their prestige, experience and background.

“Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission” acts as an international “one-stop shop” for local, national and international projects interested in filming in Bilbao and Bizkaia. The producers receive all the information on tax incentives, measures to support production, legal procedures, management of public spaces use, traffic and safety permits, locations and audiovisual industry in a personalized and direct way.

Bilbao and Bizkaia have unique and distinct elements to compete for the acquisition of audiovisual projects. With a mild climate and four distinct seasons, the plurality and diversity of locations in the city and the territory include unique options in areas such as architecture, industrial landscape, nature, coast, inland, city, history and identity.
