El arte invade las calles de Bilbao: “Fin de Semana de las Artes”, 2 y 3 de Mayo 2014

Free entry to museums, street music, performances, meeting artists in exhibitions rooms and galleries, conferences and workshops for everybody, families included, are some of the proposals of the “Arts Weekend”, which will fill Bilbao with passion for art on May 2 and 3.

For the second year in a row, Bilbao Art District organize this event trying to promote culture as a social and economic motor for the city, as well as offering locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy two days full of art and entertainment.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Museum of Fine Arts invite, in special scheduled times, to visit the exhibitions by Yoko Ono and Markus Lüpertz, respectively, for free. Art galleries will play a prominent role and will offer meetings with artists, live music and different cultural initiatives in an Open Day. Basque Country University, with Fine Arts students’ participation, and local artists also join the ‘art celebration’.

The ‘Arts Weekend’ is one of the most outstanding events organized by Bilbao Art District, a shared and strategic project that strengthens Bilbao as an avant-garde, creative and design city. The Art District is a shared initiative of the most important arts galleries, museums and artistic agents in the city and counts on the collaboration of Bilbao City Council and Biscay Provincial Council.
